Variations Botaniques est une expérience audiovisuelle à base de vidéo, de dessins numériques, d’infographies et de sons expérimentaux. Avec leur création audiovisuelle unique, les artistes invitent le public à reconsidérer ses environs. Variations Botaniques crée une architecture temporaire qui cherche à effacer les barrières entre l’environnement artificiel et son écosystème.
Présenté aux festivals: Inspire (Moncton, NB), Area 506 & Third Shift (Saint-John, NB), Lumière (Sydney, NS), Nocturne (Halifax, NS), 2019.

Using computer generated graphics, video, digital drawings and experimental audio, Botanic Variations is an audiovisual experience created on a large urban wall. Starting at dusk, an extensive composition is revealed on the building turning it into a giant canvas. The visual composition is made of graphic and abstract elements, growing on the wall as the design takes shape. Moreover, the composition is adapted to fully utilise the building it is projected onto, creating a virtual green wall. Green urban areas facilitate physical activity and relaxation, and form a refuge from noise. Inspired by nature and new technologies, Botanic Variations seeks to eliminate barriers between the built environment and its ecosystem. In a time where climate change is ever-present, we intend to shift conscience towards a greener economy and weigh on the importance of a responsible urbanisation.
